The building itself is beautiful and the overall hygiene is good (except there is a smell from the toilet which probably cannot be totally removed given it is an old architecture but would appreciate if the hotel would put more fragrance / spray to at least try to minimise the smell). Location is good in a sense but not convenient as no car / taxi can be stopped in front of the hotel. We need to pull our luggage and walk across streets to the main road to get a taxi, which I think if you have big / heavy luggage would be troublesome. Disappointed by the front desk staff as their overall English is poor, I do speak Mandarin but my husband does not so I think things would be difficult if an international tourist decides to stay here.Most disappointing is the poor service and unhelpful attitude. The front desk did not offer to pre-book our taxi to the airport the day before our flight (given our flight was at 7:45am and we only found out they could book it before. When I asked during check-in they did not sound like they could book). No staff offer any help with our luggage when we were running around trying to find a taxi to the airport. This is very disappointing. The takeaway breakfast is of poor quality (we could not have breakfast in the hotel due to early flights) which certainly did not worth the price. I would have expected better service given the price this hotel charges, or I would have chosen to stay at the regular 5-star hotel then with similar price tag.
